英語教育講義(15)

 In this class, the lecture of being taken was summed up. When I talked with some members, I remember the topic. In the external teacher's presentation, I could know about motivation. Through this class, I could learn details of English education.

 In this class, we talked about computers. I often use smartphone and personal computer. The target of using them is to watch news and listen to favorite musics. In my case, I often use them in my house.   In outside lecturer's talking, I could know particulars that she entered graduate school. I think that, by entering it, relearning various things is good.

In this class, I could learn things. Also, I could listen to Mr. Ryosuke's presentation. The content of speech was inner speech. This phenomenon is seen to me. I feel interesting that inner speech relates to English literatures. It was good time.

In today's class, I learned various things. Especially what I was impressed with is Mr. Kouyo Ogawa's presentation. I could know that Japanese are passive to the class, but America and United kingdom are less passive than Japan. Certainly, when I was a high school,  most of students are passive attitude, for example, when teacher said to students, "Can you understand?" they kept silent. Maybe, America and United Kingdom's student are active attitude toward to classes. I was glad to hear the difference between Japan and America, United Kingdom.

 In this lecture, I learned balanced curriculum. This is two essential elements, Language study and Fluency Practice. I think that they are important to study. Also, I learned CLT more. What I impressed with is that teachers don't know the meaning of CLT. As long as they don't know it, the better education of language isn't provided.

 In this lecture, I learned about CLT and it has long history. I also learned Communicative Competence . This is divided into four elements, Linguistics, Strategic, Socio-Linguistics, Discourse. I think that they are essential to us to acquire it.  When I have a chance to perform A and B, I made some mistakes of English grammar. Actually, unless I perform something like this, I may not notice trivial mistakes

  In today's class, I discussed culture shock. I have never experienced it because I have never been to foreign country. I think that we experience culture shock when I go to China, Korea and United States. Maybe, some the students will become emotionally depressed. It's up to students whether you put up with culture shock and remain to stay foreign country, or can't endure and go back to native country. I think that intercultural communication is an obstacle that we stops forward absolutely.

  In today's class, I learned how to study effectively. What I thought is that we have to improve four skills, reading, speaking, writing and listening unbiasedly. If we only concentrate on studying reading skill, it is true that the ability to read English sentences will improve, but three of skills aren' t so enough that it may interfere with exams like the English Proficiency Test or Gtec because these test doesn't only  measure reading ability but also writing or listening. In small group, we talked about output and input. I think that this two things are essential to us to learn English.

 In today's class, I learned about internal factors. I took speech recognition test and three out of six were correct. While solving this problem, I wondered which sound correspond to number. I found that oral communication don't have relation to intelligence. I think that there are many people who are good at oral communication although they are not smart. In terms of learning second language, I don't think that it's too late to start learning from any age, but there may be individual differences in learning speed.

 In today's group, we talked about second language. There are some people which majors in Germany or French in my group. The trouble is that it's hard to memorize words because masculine noun and female noun are distinguished. the man that majors in Chinese told us that it was hard to pronounce it despite the fact that Japanese was similar to it in terms of using Kanji. German is also similar to English. For example, In English, "Name" is pronounced ”ネーム”, but in German, it is pronounced "ナーメ”.  Thus similarity and difference are shown those languages. I was able to understand the anguish of learning languages.

 In second semester, we learned motivation. While I took this lecture, I started thinking about motivation. Now, I work at two places, WEST and cram school. I have two motivations to work. Why I work at two places is to earn a lot of money and study how to teach students English. This two reasons are my motivations. Motivating don't happen unless an incident happens. I think that the motivation of studying a subject means that learner feels attractive to it.  To keep motivations of studying, we should set a goal. For example, to go on university, we learn how to solve problems of subjects to pass entrance exam. If we don't set it, we may not do something to go on.

The impact of Corona virus makes us trouble because I have never gone through experiences to take lectures with online. To learn second language, the way of learning is important. I didn't know the fact that, in terms of memorizing words, it is better not to write down and memorize rather than writing and memorizing until I take this lecture. Learning second language is not easy for us, but there are some ways to learn efficiently. I would like to know how to educate learners about second language.
